Harmony with a purpose
Vocal Blend: An Acapella Festival supports the Coastal Bend Food Bank and its work fighting hunger throughout our community. Together, our singers and guests will turn a joyful day of music into a cheerful community food drive.
Our promise: Every participating group is expected to perform with respect, good sportsmanship, and consideration for fellow singers and guests.
Our shared standard
Participation in Vocal Blend: An Acapella Festival is a privilege. Every singer, sponsor, volunteer, and guest is expected to help create an environment that is safe, honorable, welcoming, and appropriate for performers of all ages.
Only singers of good moral character are invited to attend. For this event, good moral character means acting honestly, respectfully, responsibly, and lawfully, and demonstrating sound judgment toward fellow participants, volunteers, guests, and the community.
We take the vulnerability of youth very seriously. Any participant under 18 must remain under the supervision of their designated adult sponsor. Adults must maintain appropriate boundaries and avoid isolated one-on-one situations with a minor.
Harassment, bullying, discrimination, intimidation, sexual misconduct, unwanted contact, threats, retaliation, and degrading or disruptive behavior are prohibited.
Participants may not attend or perform while impaired by alcohol or illegal drugs. Weapons, violence, dangerous conduct, and deliberate damage to the venue or another person’s property are prohibited.
Safety concerns, suspected misconduct, or policy violations should be reported immediately to an event organizer or responsible venue representative. An urgent threat should be reported to emergency services first.
Organizers may investigate concerns, limit contact, remove a participant or group, decline or revoke participation, and contact guardians, venue leadership, or authorities when appropriate. Retaliation against a person who raises a good-faith concern is prohibited.
Organizers will apply it in good faith, with attention to safety, fairness, privacy, and the seriousness of the circumstances. Nothing in this policy prevents anyone from reporting suspected abuse, neglect, or criminal conduct directly to the appropriate authorities.
